At Pro Xe Automotive, our goal is simple: to develop performance solutions with purpose. We believe great engineering should do more than make cars faster. Every product we develop is designed with drivability, reliability, efficiency, and real-world performance in mind, providing our customers with transparency and the confidence to push their vehicles further.
Based in Syracuse, New York, we’re a small, dedicated team of individuals with a shared passion for automotive engineering, innovation, and performance.
We take a hands-on approach to product development, handling everything from CAD design and prototyping to testing, validation, and final assembly. We work closely with trusted manufacturing partners to produce components to our exact specifications, allowing us to maintain consistent quality while continuously expanding our product line.
Our hybrid turbochargers are built entirely in-house. Starting with carefully inspected OEM cores, each turbocharger is disassembled, cleaned, precision machined, hand ported, and rebuilt with upgraded internal components. Every unit is assembled, balanced, and subjected to flow and pressure testing before leaving our facility.
Keeping these processes under one roof gives us direct control over quality and allows us to continuously refine our designs through hands-on development and real-world testing.
Meet Our Team
Zachary Purdy — Founder & Lead Turbocharger Engineer
Zachary founded Pro Xe Automotive with a background in automotive diagnostics, repair, and performance engineering. He oversees product development, turbocharger engineering, precision machining, and the overall direction of the company.
Luke — Lead Fabricator
Luke leads our in-house fabrication operations, specializing in precision welding and custom fabrication. He handles our welding projects, supporting both product development and bespoke customer applications.
Chris — Automotive Technician
Chris handles the majority of our day-to-day automotive service and repair operations. Alongside general automotive work, he assists with turbocharger rebuilding and assembly, helping maintain production as demand continues to grow.

About The Owner ~ Zachary Purdy
I’m a young technician, fabricator, enthusiast and entrepreneur driven by a passion for motorsports, re-engineering, and pushing platforms past the normal. My foundation in the automotive world started early, working alongside my uncle in his foreign auto repair business, where I gained hands-on experience across a wide range of Euro and Japanese platforms, with the niche being VAG, BMW, Mercedes, Volvo From there, I moved into the dealership environment, earning certifications through multiple manufacturers. That experience taught me not only factory-level diagnostics and procedures, but also the importance of consistency, accountability, and doing things the right way—every time. I underwent Garrett Motion Turbo training and certification to better serve my customers with properly engineered, reliable turbo solutions
At 19, I began building the early foundations of Pro Xe Automotive out of my mother’s garage, taking on projects after hours, teaching myself fabrication, refining turbo systems, and learning through real-world trial, failure, and iteration. Those late nights and limited resources forced me to think critically, engineer creative solutions, and think outside the box—principles that still define my work today.
Pro Xe Automotive represents the intersection of that journey: grassroots problem-solving, dealer-level discipline, and an engineering-first mindset. I specialize in Volvo P1 platforms by choice, not limitation, while bringing experience from Euro and Japanese performance backgrounds to every build. The result is work that’s thoughtful, transparent, and designed to perform where it actually matters—on the road.

Every Pro Xe product is developed and validated on our own vehicles before being released to customers. From fitment and durability testing to performance validation and long-term reliability, these cars are the foundation of our research and development.
These cars are our real world validation, that a properly built P1 can make substantial power, reliably.
2010 AWD M66 S40 T5
The Pro Xe S40 is the original P1 development platform and the foundation of our hybrid turbo and airflow R&D. Built with a strict focus on real-world performance, durability, and drivability, this car proves that a properly built P1 Volvo can deliver serious power while remaining a reliable daily driver.
This car is used to test, refine, and prove all Pro Xe products in real street conditions before it ever reaches a customer. Our hybrid turbos, boost control parts, each part in our catalog has been street-tested under hard daily-driving conditions, not just simulated or dyno-only scenarios.
Unlike builds that see limited use, this S40 is driven consistently—cold starts, heat soak, traffic, highway pulls, and long-term wear are all part of the testing process. If a component can survive and perform reliably on this platform, it earns its place in the Pro Xe lineup.

Pro Xe 2009 Volvo C30 T5 AW55
This C30 has played a major role in our P1 research and development. Honing our knowledge on the the platform over the years, it has served as one of our primary test platforms for hybrid turbocharger development, product validation, and real-world durability testing. Many of the Pro Xe products available today were refined and proven on this vehicle.
The PX380 Hybrid Turbo was intentionally chosen and calibrated for a conservative 340 HP / 360 ft-lbs on low boost. Rather than chasing an aggressive midrange torque spike like our AWD S40 calibration, the goal for this front-wheel-drive C30 was maximizing usable power and traction.
By keeping boost and torque under control in the low and midrange, the car delivers power progressively without overwhelming the front tires. The larger turbo’s increased airflow is then used to maintain horsepower all the way to redline, carrying 340 HP and 360 ft-lbs deep into the RPM range, with peak horsepower occurring at 6,568 RPM. The result is a car that pulls hard to the limiter, remains predictable, and puts significantly more of its power to the pavement instead of turning it into wheelspin.
