Our Pro Xe ported and polished intake runners are hand-finished to improve airflow efficiency, reduce restriction, and optimize cylinder filling across all five cylinders. Each runner is carefully port-matched, smoothed, measured, and individually CFM tested to help guarantee balanced airflow from cylinder to cylinder.

There is a common argument that hand-finished runners cannot be as even or consistent as CNC-machined or AFM-processed parts. In our experience, especially after porting, fabricating, and building many different high-horsepower cars across a wide range of platforms and applications, we have found that experienced hand-finishing is often the most effective method when working with cast intake components.

The reason is simple: cast parts are not always perfect. They often have air pockets, casting flaws, uneven transitions, and small imperfections that a machine may not detect or correct properly. A CNC program applies the same cut repeatedly, but castings can vary from runner to runner. An experienced fabricator can inspect each runner individually, correct problem areas by hand, and finish the part based on what that specific casting actually needs.

That hands-on approach allows us to be more meticulous where it matters most. Each runner is measured thoroughly and CFM tested individually to help ensure even flow to each cylinder.
