PRO XE STAGE 1 HYBRID TURBO

The Pro Xe Stage 1 Hybrid Turbo is a direct bolt-on performance upgrade for Volvo P1 T5 (C30, S40, V50, C70) and P3 S60 T5 platforms. Designed around the factory K04 frame, the Stage 1 delivers significantly improved airflow, efficiency, and power potential while maintaining OEM-like spool characteristics and fitment.

Rather than simply installing oversized wheels into a factory housing, the Pro Xe Stage 1 is engineered as a complete system focused on maximizing the efficiency of the K04 platform. The result is a turbocharger that produces stronger midrange power, increased top-end airflow, and lower exhaust backpressure without sacrificing responsiveness.

HOW IS IT UPGRADED?

Every Pro Xe Stage 1 Hybrid Turbo is completely disassembled, inspected, machined, ported, coated, balanced, and assembled in-house.

Each unit features:

• Upgraded journal-bearing CHRA components

• Optimized bearing clearances for improved oil control and durability
• Fully machined compressor and turbine housings
• Extensive compressor inlet and outlet porting
• Ported turbine volute, inlet throat, wastegate passage, and outlet
• Upgraded billet compressor wheel
• High-flow cutback turbine wheel

Every turbocharger is high-speed VSR balanced to 150,000 RPM and tested prior to shipment.

WHY A STAGE 1 HYBRID?

The factory K04 responds exceptionally well to proper airflow improvements. By utilizing a carefully matched billet compressor and upgraded turbine package, the Pro Xe Stage 1 delivers substantially more airflow without compromising the fast spool and drivability that make these cars enjoyable on the street.

Compared to larger K16-based conversions, the Stage 1 offers:

WHY PRO XE?

Many hybrid turbo builders focus primarily on compressor wheel size while leaving the exhaust side largely untouched. In reality, the turbine housing is often the primary restriction on the factory K04 platform.

Pro Xe turbos focus heavily on turbine-side efficiency through extensive port work, optimized flow paths, and properly matched wheel sizing. This approach reduces backpressure, lowers exhaust temperatures, and creates a broader, more usable powerband.

The result is a turbocharger capable of outperforming many larger “Stage 3” hybrids while maintaining superior drivability and reliability.

Customers wishing to have their existing turbocharger rebuilt or upgraded must contact Pro Xe Automotive before placing an order.

All customer-supplied turbochargers are inspected prior to approval for rebuilding. This ensures the housing and core components meet our standards for restoration and performance upgrades.

Coverage Includes:

• CHRA defects
• Internal balancing and machining workmanship

Warranty Exclusions:

• Improper installation
• Oil starvation or contamination
• Foreign object damage
• Improper tuning
• Overspeed or overboost conditions
• Third-party modifications or repairs

If a warrantable defect is confirmed, Pro Xe Automotive will repair or replace the turbocharger at our discretion.
